Senior Vice President of the Educational Product, Technology, and Innovation
Dr. Darrell Luzzo currently serves as the Senior Vice President of the Educational Product, Technology, and Innovation (EPTI) department of the Laureate Network Office, a division of Laureate Education, Inc. In this capacity, Darrell provides executive level oversight of the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art, innovative product solutions for the global organization. Darrell’s responsibilities include championing the various product innovations taking place throughout the Laureate Network, as well as exploring and integrating new innovations into the organization’s product pipeline. Collaborating with the other executive leaders within the Laureate Network Office, Darrell has lead responsibility for Laureate’s hybridity initiative, ensuring significant expansion of digital teaching and learning throughout the Network.
Previously, Darrell served as the Divisional Vice President of Academic Operations within Laureate’s Global Products and Services Division, which included oversight of three integrated departments: Admissions Services; Registration Services; and Product Strategy, Innovation, and Development. Prior to joining Laureate in 2009, Darrell served as the Senior Vice President of Organizational Development and Training for Oncure Medical Corp., where he directed the company’s talent management and organizational behavior initiatives. Darrell’s career also includes executive-level assignments with Junior Achievement Worldwide; Kuder, Inc.; Mt. Hood Community College; and ACT, Inc. Darrell’s full-time and adjunct academic/teaching assignments with several colleges and universities over the years have included the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Long Beach State University, Colorado State University, the University of Iowa, Auburn University, and Texas A&M University.
Darrell is the Past President of the National Career Development Association. He has also served as a member of several other non-profit Boards of Directors, including the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, the National Work Readiness Council, and the Character Education Partnership. Darrell currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Board of Directors, having served as the Board Chair from 2011-2013. In addition to service on these Boards, Darrell has held active leadership positions in the American Education Research Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Counseling Association.
Darrell obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master’s and doctoral degrees in educational psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
